Happy Season of Giving!
This past year, the Children’s Organ Transplant Society has been called upon more than ever to help families deal with financial burden.
Together, we can help brighten the lives of BC’s organ transplant children.
Help us raise the necessary funds to support COTS families by donating! Find two options below, with lots of examples to help.
Executive Director, Debbie Bielech at (604)-271-7719.
Through BC Children’s Transplant Clinic social worker, we gather information about families in need. For those who frequently are in-patient, they must budget in daily parking passes ($14.25 per day), meals, snacks, and drinks, gas, extended cellphone coverage or TV service, and more. The reality? Hundreds of dollars not covered by the medical system.
Our social worker hears stories of families skipping meals, suffering from PTSD, and not being able to buy themselves life’s necessities. That’s where we come in. Every month, based on need, the Children’s Organ Transplant Society gives the Transplant Clinic social worker hundreds of dollars in gift cards that are then distributed out. These range from Safeway gift cards to Petro Canada to clothing stores– all expenses that build up quickly and substantially.
If you would like your donation to go directly to BC Children’s most at-risk transplant families, gift cards are the perfect medium.
These are some of our most requested gift cards:
- Save On
- Canada Superstore
- Petro Canada
- Canada Superstore
- Mall giftcards
- Others as specifically requested
For sending gift cards, please contact Debbie for the address.
For the Season of Giving, monetary donations give us the freedom to direct funds where they are best suited. These needs can range from counselling sessions to paying for reliable transportation.
Your donations during the Season of Giving will go aiding BC’s transplant children and their families during the holiday season, because we all deserve a holly jolly Christmas and hope for the new year.
Monetary donations can be made through this link.
Thank you and Happy Holidays!
