Help us support
BC’s transplant children.

Donate

Your generous tax-receiptable donations enable us to support over 135 transplant children & families living in BC. As the only charity in Canada to help pediatric transplant children long-term, your donations are vital to ensuring the sustained health and happiness of transplant youth.

  • As a registered charity, we support transplant children and their families through medical and non-medical funding, camp, educational events and awareness, as well as peer programming. We are a community and support network. A helping hand and shoulder to cry on. A space to heal and learn. We witness families as they move through the most traumatic experience of their life and provide financial, emotional, psychological, and social support to help them cope. The generosity of folks like you allows us to spread hope to BC’s transplant children and their families.

  • We often hear from individuals who have a personal connection to the transplant community and hope to contribute positively to a loved one’s memory or life experience. A donation to the Children’s Organ Transplant Society is a purposeful way to honour a friend, family member, loved one, or life event.

Space is available on our donation page to dedicate a tribute donation—if you wish to share.

Give Monthly

Welcome to COTS Champions—a monthly donation program designed to advance COTS’ mission and ensure our organization's long-term sustainability. For as little as the price of one coffee per month, you could ensure a transplant child has reliable access to medication, food, transportation, or mental health support.

    • The need is urgent. Approximately 90 percent of BC’s transplant children and their families struggle financially, and will at one point come to us for support.

    • The cost to sustain organ transplants is immense. From healthy food to nutrition supplements to multiple medications, families can rarely keep up with the cost of sustaining transplanted organs. For some families, one medication can cost upwards of $500-1000 per month after coverage.

    • There are gaps in medical funding. While we are lucky enough in Canada to have universal medical care, oftentimes our families fall through the cracks. They require specialized therapies, drugs, supplements, diets, and treatments not fully covered under our BC Medicare. This is where we come in.

    • It’s affordable. By splitting your generosity into smaller increments, you can provide meaningful support within your budget.

    • It’s convenient. Sign up once, and your preauthorized monthly gifts will provide ease of mind and one yearly consolidated tax receipt.

    • You boost your impact. We know you care about supporting BC’s transplant children and their families. Monthly giving compounds your donations over time, creating a substantial difference.

  • A donor can designate a beneficiary for their RRSP/RRIF, which is treated as a charitable donation in the year of death.

Please contact your financial advisor for information about bequests.

  • A gift of life insurance allows you to make a substantial donation at a relatively low cost. Please talk to your insurance provider or lawyer about naming the Children’s Organ Transplant Society as a beneficiary in your Will.

    Tax benefits will apply.

Planned giving through investments and insurance provides a meaningful way to leave a lasting impact while maximizing financial and tax benefits. COTS welcomes gifts through life insurance policies, RRSP/RRIF designations, and other investment vehicles.
